Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are prevalent in dentists, with neck and upper back pain being the most common. The effectiveness of dental loupes and chair designs in improving posture and reducing MSD risks is uncertain. Dental school curricula lack adequate training on loupe selection and usage, despite the need to evaluate recent advances in loupe design. Read more. 
 
Suicide deaths among dentists in the United States

Previous US studies focused on suicide among White male dentists, and all studies were published before 2000. Among these, 1,542 measles cases were reported by 42 jurisdictions: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York City, New York State, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
